The Blood Donor

  • “Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person – the gift of life.” - W.H.O

    1 Peter 1:18-21

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Scarlet Thread - the strand stretching throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, that progressively reveals the progress of God’s redemption plan for mankind’s salvation through the Blood of the Lamb.

    Revelation 5:6,11-12

6 Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders…11 Then I looked again, and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders. 12 And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”

    Genesis 22:2

Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

    John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

    John 8:56

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

    Genesis 22:4-5

4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”

    Mark 8:31

says this about Jesus - And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Obedient faith instructs us to make radical sacrifices

    Genesis 22:13-14

13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

    Hebrews 11:17-19

17 It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, 18 even though God had told him, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.”19 Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead.

Blood is the most precious gift that Jesus can give to you – the gift of abundant life.

3 Benefits of the Blood You Receive

Redemption from Sin - To buy back or to pay a loan or a debt. To be liberated from captivity. Where there’s been an obligation of paying a ransom, because of a kidnapping, a stealing, or a theft of a being.

    Ephesians 1:7 NKJ

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Remission of Sin - The cancellation of penalty and removal of guilt

    Hebrews 10:17-18 AMPC

17 He then goes on to say, And their sins and their lawbreaking I will remember no more.18 Now where there is absolute remission (forgiveness and cancellation of the penalty) of these [sins and lawbreaking], there is no longer any offering made to atone for sin.

Reconciled to God - to bring back a former state of harmony

    Colossians 1:20-21 TLB

20 It was through what his Son did that God cleared a path for everything to come to him—all things in heaven and on earth—for Christ’s death on the cross has made peace with God for all by his blood. 21 This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies and hated him and were separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends.

  • (00:19) someone asked me last week pastor Dean are you sure you want to preach about the blood on friendship Sunday I said you bet I am uh blood was never meant to scare us blood was meant to save us the world Health organization's website says this about blood blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person The Gift of Life how many you know life is in the blood that was what we learned in in in the basics and this is basics part two but

(01:05) last week we learned that life is in the blood a decision to donate your blood can save a life or even several if your blood is separated into its components red cells platelets plasma which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions church if blood is precious in the natural world how much more precious is the blood of Jesus in our spiritual lives God wants to give us an understanding of the power of the blood not to be afraid of the blood but how many know we draw near by the blood we learned last week that the

(01:48) shedding of blood was not God's plan B because of Adam and Eve's Disobedience and allowing sin to enter the world in fact first Peter shed some light on this 1 Peter 1:1 18-21 says this for you know everybody say I know I know how do we know the word says that we know for I know for you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors talking about Adam and Eve but with the precious blood of Jesus how

(02:27) many you thankful for the precious blood of Jesus this morning that saved you and redeemed you from your empty way of life but with the precious blood of Christ a lamb without blemish or defect he was chosen check this out verse 20 he was chosen before the creation of the world but was revealed in these last times for your sake so the blood has always been God's plan A before creation even began but how are you thankful at just the right time come on when you needed to when you needed Deliverance come on when you

(03:07) needed to break free come on for your sake God revealed the power of the blood and washing away your sins and forgiving you and giving you a new lease on life verse 21 through him you believe in God who raised him from the dead and glorified him and so your Faith and Hope are in God we see in this passage the beauty of the heart and the love of God knowing that this grand plan that he had for man would be interrupted by Adam and Eve's Disobedience that man would fall from innocence into sin and there would

(03:50) come a deadly infection into the human race and God will that Jesus would come come on and shed his blood for you and I that it would be the only transfusion that would be the answer to the infection of sin that would destroy what God wanted to do with humankind and it's only as that transfusion that blood transfusion takes place that the power of sin in the flesh can be neutralized the transfusion that takes place in the spiritual realm how are you thankful that it brings us out of bondage come on it brings us out of

(04:31) death into His Marvelous Light and it recovers God's purpose and plan in our life so not just the Forgiveness of Heaven uh forgiveness of sins how many you thankful that it's more than that God doesn't just forgive you he gives you a hope he gives you a future since the beginning of time there has been no shortage of Jesus's blood no shortage of forgiveness no shortage of cleansing no shortage of healing no shortage of reconciling because today the blood is still flowing come on today the next day and every day the blood is

(05:14) still flowing it'll be flowing forever last week I told you about the Scarlet thread the Scarlet thread is the strand of blood that we can trace throughout scripture from gen genis to Revelation that progressively reveals the progress of God's Redemption plan for mankind salvation through the blood of the lamb in fact I want us to follow that Scarlet thread to Revelation chapter 5 the last book in the Bible it says then uh Revelation 56 And1 then I saw a lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered but it was now standing

(05:58) between the throne and the four living creatures uh and among the 24 Elders then I looked again and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders and they sang in a mighty chorus will you join the Angels this morning with me singing Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and bless bling can we give God praise this morning we worship the lamb you see Jesus will be loved and

(06:38) worshiped for all eternity as the Lamb of God who humbly sacrificed his life for us but I want us to rewind and follow the Scarlet thread back to Genesis 22 and I want to share the story about Abraham offering Isaac as a sacrifice Genesis CH 22 it showcases Abraham's unwavering faith and trust in God's guidance and it foreshadows how many you know the Old Testament points to the new right and if you follow this thread it will lead us to Calvary eventually it showcases Abraham's unwavering trust in God's

(07:27) guidance and foreshadows the idea of God providing a sacrificial substitute God instructs Abraham to take his son Isaac whom he loves to the region of Mariah and offer him as a burnt sacrifice on a specific mountain and Abraham obeys he doesn't even question God's command and he sets out with Isaac and two of his servants to this designated Place Called Mariah and just as Abraham uh as they prepare for the sacrifice Isaac and they're walking up this mountain Isaac is looking around and he's like uh

(08:11) dad uh there's a missing lamb for the sacrifice how many you know it's okay to ask what's missing in your life and Abraham realizes that God will provide a lamb just as Abraham is about to sacrifice Isaac in the story an angel of the Lord stops him and commends him of his faith and his obedience and he provides a ram in a Thicket for the offering instead of his son and the angel reiterates God's promise to bless Abraham and multiply his descendants because of his obedience I want to go back and I want to highlight just a few

(08:56) verses that I believe will encourage us and again lay a foundation of having the basics down how many you know it's important to have the basics down listen if we want breakthrough and if we want blessings because of the blood how you know we've got to get the basics down Genesis 22:2 it says then he said God talking to Abraham take now your son your only son Isaac whom you love and go to the land of Mariah and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you does that sound

(09:37) familiar to you at all how many you know we can follow the Scarlet thread to John 3:16 where it says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life you see this story of Abraham offering his son Isaac is a prophetic picture 2,000 years before of how Jesus would pay the ultimate price for us by becoming our substitute lamb the very next morning Abraham takes his two servants and Isaac and they take this three-day trip up to uh Mount

(10:24) Mariah in 2019 Amy and I we l a group we took a group of about 32 people uh from Real Life Church uh to Israel and we visited all the holy sites and one of the holy sites that we visited was uh the garden tomb and and you get in the garden tomb and they take you on a tour and one part of that tour there's like an Amphitheater where they tell you the H they tell you the story of of Calvary they tell you the the whole gospel story there and then they give you some background of the Holy sight and then outside of this holy sight the the holy

(11:01) sight is fenced in but outside as we're sitting on these bleachers they said oh yeah and right outside the fence do you see that hill right there that is golgatha you see how that looks like a skull you see those two little those two little eyes right there and possibly those that is golgatha that is actually where Jesus was crucified and I and I looked over to my right and and it it was crazy because there was like a parking lot there was a warehouse over here it was like oh no big deal right Jesus was crucified right over the here right over

(11:37) there do you know what Scholars identify this place as Mount Mariah it's the very Mountain where Abraham's obedience led him and the same place where Jesus's obedience led him to be crucified for you and I what I want you to understand there is no way a Abraham could have known it but it as though God was saying from the very beginning in Genesis CH 22 I want this message to be loud and clear from the very beginning of the Bible I'm providing a lamb that will take away the sins of the world John

(12:22) 856 I have never seen this verse in light of the passage that uh where talking about today Genesis CH 22 but it says this about Abraham it says your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day and saw it and was glad you say how could Abraham be glad listen way back 2,000 years before Jesus was crucified Abraham was on Mount Mariah and he saw come on he saw that the Lord provided a lamb that he would provide a lamb for you and I he saw a glimpse of the Scarlet thread that stretched the span of 2,000 years into the future before

(13:09) Jesus was crucified and today I ask you can you see it can you see it will you look back and find the Scarlet thread and see what Jesus did for you and I 2000 years ago when they reached their destination Abraham left his servants behind and he takes Isaac up the hill it says Mountain but I if you saw the picture that that was a hill I love this part of the story because we get a glimpse of Abraham's faith faith in the one who would never go against his promise how many you thankful that God never goes against his

(13:56) promise his promises are yes and amen in him Genesis 22: 4 and 5 says then on the third day how you know the third day is important in Christianity come on you might not have had a good Friday you might not have had a good yesterday but how you know on the third day things can change things can shift for your life it says on the third day everybody say Third Day third day on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place a far off and Abraham said to his young men his servants stay here with the donkey and the lad and I

(14:39) will go Yonder Come on how you know that's the redneck version right there come on somebody we're going to go up yonder and worship now catch this phrase right here and we will come back to you listen Abraham so knew the character of God that although he was willing listen to say yes to the Lord I'll I'll sacrifice my son he knew the character of God and he said you know what we will be back to you here's a kingdom principle for you and I to take note of what you willingly sacrifice in obedience will always come back to you

(15:23) yes sir sir what you willingly sacrifice in obedience will always come back to you does that sound familiar Genesis 224 to5 Mark 8:31 as we follow the Scarlet thread back to the New Testament it says this about Jesus and Jesus began to teach them that the son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes and be killed come on and after three days everybody say three days days will rise again here's another quick note obedient Faith always instructs us to make radical

(16:12) sacrifices you see at the top of the mountain Abraham built an Al an altar he bound his son and he laid him on top of the wood and Abraham took the knife and he was ready to sacrifice his son in obedience to the word of the Lord and just then the angel how you know God is never early I mean he's never what do I want to say he's never early but never late something like that yeah he's never early but never late but how you know he's right on time and just then the angel called out to Abraham from Heaven do not lay a hand

(16:49) on the boy he said do not do anything to him now I know that your fear of God you fear God because you have not withheld from me your son your only son when Abraham looked up from the altar he saw a ram caught in the thicket by its horns and he realized that the Lord was providing a substitute sacrifice for his son Genesis chapter 22 verses 13 and 14 it it shares about this moment it says then Abraham lifted his eyes and he looked and there behind him was a ram in a Thicket by its horns so Abraham went and took the RAM and offered it up for a

(17:43) burnt offering instead of his son somebody say glory to God and Abraham called the name of that place this is where we get the this is where we get Jehovah Gyra this is where we get that song that everybody likes Gyra he is enough right this is that song right here this is out of this and Abraham called the name of that place the Lord will provide as it is said to this day in the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided if you follow the Scarlet thread now back to Hebrews chap 11 in the Hall of faith it says this about

(18:26) this moment right here Hebrews 11 17 to 19 and I'm going to ask our worship team to come it says this it was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him Abraham who had received God's promises was ready to sacrifice his only son Isaac even though God had told him Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted Abraham reasoned look at this Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died God was able to bring him back to life again and in a sense Abraham did receive

(19:16) his son back from the dead because he willingly come on released him to the Lord he said Lord and some of y'all need to maybe do that this morning Lord my son my daughter come on my family is in your hands come on how many you know God can do more with your family in his hands than he can do with them in your hands and in a sense Abraham did receive his son back from the dead you see 2,000 years before Christ God provided a blood donor for Abraham in the form of a ram to take Isaac's place so Abraham could

(19:55) see God's covenant of gener generational fruitful Divine protection and blessings continue in his life by the power come on of the blood and 2,000 years ago and this is what the story mirrors 2,000 years ago God provided a blood donor blood donor for us in his son Jesus Christ to be our substitute the one who would take our place and die for our sin not so that we could just get to heaven but so that we could experience Come On A Little Bit of Heaven on Earth you see even the World Health Organization recognizes that blood is a

(20:43) gift in the natural but for the believing Christian listen it is a the precious blood of Jesus is a powerful gift in our spiritual lives blood is the the most precious gift that Jesus can give to you and I it's the gift of Abundant Life and as we close I want to just give you three benefits three benefits or Basics if you will of the blood you receive that is foreshadowed in this story the first thing that we receive is we all receive Redemption from sin how many you thankful that Jesus Paid the price come on that you couldn't pay

(21:35) we were indebted to him this word Redemption means to buy back or to pay a loan or a debt to be liberated from captivity where there's been an obligation of paying a ransom because of a kidnapping or something was stolen or a theft uh somebody stole something and Jesus come on purchased us he paid a payment come on we didn't have to pay Ephesians 1:7 says in him we have Redemption can you just say that with me in him we have Redemption how through his blood the Forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his Grace Grace is this God's

(22:24) riches at Christ's expense God riches at Christ's expense the second thing we all have is the remission of sin see a lot of us we have no problem with being forgiven but we do have a problem forgiving ourselves and we carry around unnecessary guilt and we carry around unnecessary shame remission of sin is this it is the cancellation and P of penalty and REM removal of guilt how many you want to live a guilty free life come on no shame in your game Hebrews 10:17 to 18 in the Amplified says this and their sins and

(23:13) their lawbreaking I will remember no more God's not holding it over you he's not trying to remind you of it how many know the devil's good at doing that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus it says I will remember their sins no more as far as the East is f from the West another portion of the scripture says I'll throw I'll cast them away in the sea of forgetfulness Verse 18 now where there is absolute remission forgiveness and cancellation of the penalty of these

(23:57) sins and in law breaking there is no longer any offering made to atone for sin how many know Jesus died once come on for all through the blood of Jesus sin has now gone into 100% remission this is the testimony that we opened up with today this gentleman that we saw on the video listen his cancer went into a 100% remission as it is with the blood of Jesus in other words the blood of Jesus has the power not only to remove Sin from the mind of God but also to remove sin and sin Consciousness from the memory of the

(24:40) believer listen and and the enemy wants you to focus with what's wrong with you but God and the Holy Spirit inside of you wants to focus on what's right with you it's the right in us that we have in Christ Jesus you see when my sin is in remission I am free of guilt and shame and I have a revelation of the righteousness that I have in Christ Jesus and then lastly the benefit and the basics that we must have is we must understand that we are reconciled to God the word reconcile means to bring back a former

(25:19) state of Harmony he brings us into right relationship with our creator Colossians 1:20 verse 21 it was through what his son did I love this that cleared a path for everything to come to him all things in heaven and on Earth for Christ's death on the cross has made peace with God for all how by his blood how by his blood this includes you who wore once so far away from God you were his enemies and hated him and were separated from him by your evil thoughts and ACS yet now he has brought you back as friends listen maybe

(26:06) today you're here this morning and a friend invited you maybe you responded to an ad on Facebook or Instagram can I tell you that it's not a mistake that you're here this morning you are here not by accident but by Divine Providence and God desires a relationship with you if you're far away from him he shed his blood so that you could draw near with every head bowed and every eye closed we're going to do this in every service but this morning if you're here and you just say Pastor Dean will you

(26:48) include me in the prayer to become a friend of God I've been running away I've been far away I haven't been able to forgive myself and this morning God wants you to know that he shed his blood for you today in this moment and he wants to give you a new beginning listen if you've never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior or maybe today you want to rededicate it your life and you want to pray the Prayer of Salvation with us will you just lift your hand and say Pastor Dean will you include me in that prayer I'm
